David Hauge

As an artist, I am primarily self-taught. I work in acrylic and oil paints and all drawing media including reclaimed wood, scrape wood and canvas. My assembled wood mosaics include pieced together bits of barn wood and scrap woods that he cuts, sands and arranged in complex wall designs. Paint and media are heavily layered on scrap wood and sometimes on old barn wood surfaces. I believe in producing unique art pieces with the most unique wood that he can find.  For reclaimed wood mosaic art, I always feel that it is the old pieces that makes my art unique. Using mixed media including acrylic, pastel, crayon and wood construction. I am always trying to tap into my source of creativity by starting all pieces with no intentions and allow the art to evolve through numerous generations with experimentation. Much is left to chance and interpretation to the finished work. Every piece undergoes a process of construction and change and is impossible to replicate.
